Ballistic Advantage 10.3″ 300 BLK Video Review

300 BLK

Tactical Gun Review video review of the Ballistic Advantage 10.3″ 300 BLK complete upper.  300 Blackout is all the rage these days and so we decided to build up a suppressed 300 BLK SBR to use for stalk hunting wild boars here in Texas.  Of course, it would also make an excellent home defense or truck gun.  Our initial impressions can be found here.

Ballistic Advantage

Here at TGR we are big believers in Ballistic Advantage barrels.  So when I started on a new 300 Blackout build I headed over to their website to spec out a Hanson Profile barrel.  Of course one of the key decisions surrounds matching the right barrel to the right handguard and gas block.  That is when I noticed the menu option for the Complete Uppers.  A Ballistic Advantage Hanson Profile barrel with a VLTOR Freedom Rail ready to rumble right out of the box?  Sold!

There were two 300 BLK uppers I was interested in.  The 8.3″ barrel with 7″ rail or the 10.3″ barrel with 9″ rail.  After some deliberation I decided on the 10.3″ barrel and placed my order and then stalked UPS anxiously waiting for delivery.

Consumer Gun Review: Daniel Defense 300 Blackout

Daniel Defense 300 BLK

I bought my first AR 15 in 223/556 back in Feb of 2013. I was not happy with the 223 ballistics and was soon on the pursuit for a larger caliber AR style rifle. So obviously, I started looking at the 308 caliber. However, the cost slowed me down as well as the weight (for hunting). So while searching the internet blogs for insight and knowledge, I discovered the 300 Blackout.

300 Blackout (300 BLK)

In case you have been living in a cave for the last several years, the 300 Blackout is the sexy new girl on the block.  This article is part one of a new series on the 300 Blackout (300 BLK).  While the cartridge-haters will tell you that the 300 BLK is the answer to a question no one asked it is an interesting option – especially for use with subsonic ammunition and a suppressor.  After all, do we really need much more than .22lr, .45 ACP, and .308?  Variety is the spice of life and the Blackout is growing in popularity.

For quantity of hogs taken, the pinnacle is aerial shooting.
