I’ve been running a Trijicon SRS red dot on various AR-15 uppers for about a month and a half now. I’ve put well over a thousand rounds downrange (mostly 5.45x39mm) with this optic and have truly fallen in love with it.

But what’s that old saying about always hurting the one you love? It’s never more true than for a weapons tester. After taking it out in Hurricane Sandy, I became convinced of the durability of the SRS. I wanted to see how the optic would hold up to rough treatment and repeated removal from and re-attachment to the weapon.

To be fair to myself, the SRS had gotten a bit dirty with sand and grit, after having been fired prone and on its side. Below is the video of my rather rough attempt at giving the Trijicon SRS a bath.

Special thanks to AIM Surplus for supplying ammunition for testing the Trijicon SRS.
