Best Feature: By far the biggest distinguishing feature over other company’s products is the friction lock that eliminates the characteristic ‘wiggle’ that collapsible stocks usually have. For shooters who may have been debating between the compact storage and adjustability of a collapsible stock and the more solid feel of a fixed-length stock, this is a great solution at a reasonable price.
Ergonomics: In addition to the solid feel of the CTR, it also has very good cheek weld and excellent padding for an adjustable buttstock. As with most of Magpul’s gear, you can quickly see the attention to detail and the ‘needs first’ design focus.
Accessories: I haven’t found the need for a cheek riser or other accessories, but the CTR has a great range of factory and aftermarket accessories to enhance its capabilities. LaRue Tactical has a number of add-ons that effectively transform the CTR into a high-precision shooting stock.
