Lynx Defense has released a cool new rifle case, The Gigabyte, as part of their Urban Legend series. This high-quality, padded case accommodates bolt rifles up to 22″ barrel length and tactical shotguns. Of course, it will also hold your favorite carbine as well as a pistol or two.

The Gigabyte is produced by Lynx Defense in Selma, North Carolina. Lynx manufacturers a nice lineup of gun cases, backpacks, and medical kits. Built for bolt rifles up to a 22″ barrel. My Bergara 6.5 Creedmoor fits perfectly. Specifications of The Gigabyte:

  • Length 42″, height 12″, width 4″.
  • Weight 5 pounds.
  • 500D Cordura.
  • Well padded with three internal security straps.
  • Shoulder strap.
  • Pockets: One external, two internal.
  • MSRP $275.

I really like the straps. They are sewn in at the bottom of the case so they are always secured and in place. The entire floor of the case is part of the hook-and-loop fastening system so you can attach the straps pretty much anywhere.

The overall design is clean. If a rifle case can be “discreet” this is it. It doesn’t scream “tactical” at all.

The Gigabyte was made in the USA and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that also serves as the QA validation.

Overall, The Gigabyte is a premium, well-designed rifle case. The padding is substantial enough to protect your optics. The tough fabric and quality zippers should hold up to years of hard use. It is a welcome addition to the Lynx Defense lineup. The Urban Legend series includes The Bronx (36″ length), The Bureau (carbine), and The Byte (PDW).
