Crux Suppressors Now At Silencer Shop!

Crux Logo

Crux Suppressors are finally available through the Silencer Shop!  The business agreement has been years in the making but the complete line of Crux suppressors can now be purchased through the Silencer Shop.  The Crux Nemesis 30 is one awesome silencer.

Full disclosure.  I have spent time with both Dave and Curtis.  I own several Crux suppressors and I have purchased suppressors from the Silencer Shop.

Crux was formerly known as Templar Tactical.  In fact, my first suppressors are rolled with Templar Tactical.  The initial Templar Tactical product line-up included the Nemesis (6″), Ark (7.5″), and Archangel (9.25″).  These are all 1.5″ diameter, full titanium cans.  For marketing reasons, the name was changed to Crux several years ago.  The two newest models are the Axe and Saxon both of which are slim 1.375″ cans.

YHM Ti Phantom .30 Suppressor Review

Ti Phantom

Yankee Hill Machine Company is well know for producing quality products.  The YHM Ti Phantom .30 caliber direct thread suppressor continues that tradition of quality and value.  The Ti Phantom is a full sized .30 caliber suppressor featuring Titanium / Inconel construction that weighs in at only 15 ounces.  The stainless steel version is 28 ounces so the Ti model is significantly lighter.  Inconel is a corrosion resistant material that performs very well in a hostile environment of high pressure and high heat, which is why it is used for suppressor blast baffles.

We ran the Ti Phantom on two different rifles while out hunting one weekend.  The first platform was my Bergara HMR 6.5 Creedmoor.  The Ti Phantom was right at home on this rig and would be a very nice long-term solution.  Unfortunately, the hunting portion of the weekend was a dud but we did get the opportunity to spend some time with the Ti Phantom on the range banging steel.  As you would expect from a full-size silencer the sound signature was very pleasant.  YHM claims a sound reduction of 32 decibels.

Lyman Shooting Bags

Lyman bags

Lyman is well known for producing great products and their reloading handbooks are the bible of shooting sports.  I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Lyman shooting bags – Match, Crosshair Combo Set, and Wedge – and they are all first-rate.

Testing gear for Tactical Gun Review and Texas Outdoors Network can take on many forms.  Sometimes it is strictly a functional test.  Other times we are testing optics or suppressors.  Accuracy with different ammo.  A quick zero-check before a hunt.  When we get set up for an extended shoot nothing beats a good set of shooting bags.  They are easy to transition to different guns, handle a variety of configurations, and are stable.

Dead Air Sandman-K Review

Dead Air Sandman-K

The Dead Air Sandman-K is a cool, super-compact 7.62 suppressor measuring only 5.4″ long and weighing in at a slim 12.8 ounces.  The standard Keymount muzzle break serves as the Quick Attachment point.  The beauty of this system is that it only adds 2.9″ to your overall rifle length.

Nice twist on the pricing.  Dead Air is offering the Sandman-K for sale at a heavily discounted price of $699.  This special price is good until the Hearing Protection Act moves out of committee.  At that point, the price jumps to $950.  The HPA has certainly had some interesting consequences on the industry, don’t you think?
