Jtech Gear recently sent me over one of their HSS International Multicam Triple Magazine Pouches (5.56/7.62) to do some reviews of; I want to start by thanking them. Now onto the review. The HSS
The HSS International Multicam Triple Magazine Pouch is constructed with 1000D Cordura in genuine Multicam
Everything on this pouch is double stitched with the exception of the magazine covers, but where the flaps attach to the rest of the pouch is double stitched as well. Each flap can be secured in closed top configuration by the velcro on the cover flaps and on the pouch itself. Each flap has a pull tab to easily open the pouch. There is also a riveted drain hole for each cell. Unlike most rifle magazine pouches that use an elastic strap for retention the HSS Triple Rifle pouch uses a shock cord with a cord lock. It is extremely nice because it allows the user to run anywhere between 1 and 3 AR magazines or 1 to 2 AK47 magazines in each cell. Another great reason why I like the shock cord retention system is, if one uses one of the magazines it is possible to quickly tighten the pouch up to keep the rest of the magazines from falling out
With the way the retention system is designed it is possible to run up to 3 AR magazines in open or closed top (just by stuffing the flap into the pouch) configuration without the risk of them working themselves out. There is room to accommodate for magazines with magpuls and Pmags with Ranger Plates.
Next I tested out my lovely AK47 magazines. One is able to fit up to two surplus steel 30 round magazines or two of Tapco’s polymer 30 round magazines in each cell. They are a bit too tall to be able to run it as a closed top pouch, but once again thanks to the shock cord adjustable retention that is not a huge concern.

This pouch attaches to any Molle webbing by four straps and secured by a metal snap. The Molle webbing itself is one piece that has been folded over a flexible strip of plastic to give it a little extra rigidity. The stitching next to the metal snaps, as well as the snaps them self, are not completely straight, this bothers me slightly but it will never be seen once woven onto a chest rig or plate carrier.

In conclusion, this pouch was made in Taiwan by JTech Gear under military specifications and HSS International. This may be my new favorite rifle pouch due to it’s versatility in holding AR and AK magazines. If you are an AK and AR shooter and don’t want to have separate rigs for each weapon I highly recommend HSS’s Triple Magazine pouch
