Consumer Gun Review: Sig Sauer P250

I was on the hunt for the perfect home protection pistol and I happened upon the Sig P250 in 40S&W. I saw it and immidiately fell in love with it. I am a lefty so I was impressed that it was almost completely ambidextrous. I am very comfortable around weapons, don’t have any children and didn’t mind that it doesn’t have a safety. This may be an issue for some.

The pistol itself had an immaculate fit and finish. I took it to the range the next day with a few boxes of federal ammo. The trigger was loose and kind of sloppy. You always knew where it was going to break sear but with it being a double action only pistol, it is a very long heavy pull. I was not impressed with the accuracy.
I am a decent shot, normally, but not with this weapon. I could not find a groove when shooting and was consistently shooting low. About 6 inches low at 30ft. So I let my father in law takes some practice with it with the same thoughts as me. He was also shooting low. So I let my brother shoot it again with the same results. Nobody felt like this weapon was built to the normal standard of a Sig. My brother brought his Sig P226 but we all actually enjoyed shooting that.
The P250 is a great looking pistol but leaves me wanting more on the accuracy and mostly on the trigger. I think that if they focused on making one pistol and not trying to make this a platform where you can swap the trigger around, they could have had a decent pistol instead of this great safe queen.

I had the same problem with a .45acp P250. I switched from 230 Gr to 185 Gr and point of aim came up but I think the Sig just takes some rounds down range to break in or I was jerking the trigger. Mine shoots dead on now with either load. Mine took about 300 rounds before it shot well.

Matt, I saw ur ?? About GlocknRoll’s scope. He’s a good smart dude from what I read of his stuff. I didn’t want to walk on his post but if you want the lowdown from my perspective on the Millet LRS-1 then feel free to give me a call. I’ve had 2 of them and still using 1. I’ll tell ya about the troubles of the first and how the second one has been working out for 8-9 months of regular use. 517 442 2050.

Matt, if you want to stick to plastic and like the sig grip angle, check out the Sig Pro 2022. It is a DA/SA pistol with probably one of the smoothest DA triggers of any production pistol on the market. The Sig Pro offers 3 different grip sizes as well as the mag release can be moved to the right side of the pistol. Here is the kicker, you can find one just about every where for around $400. They are reliable and super accurate out of box.
