Wilson Combat factory visit

Last week we were up in Bentonville, AR mountain biking and we arranged a tour of the Wilson Combat factory which was about an hour and a half away. I have been a HUGE WC fanboy for over 10 years and own several of them. I don’t think anyone builds better pistols or ARs.

It’s a very impressive facility. One of the first things we encountered when going into the factory was a wall of some of Bill’s mounts. This guy is serious about hunting and he told me once his goal was to spend 50% of the time hunting.. like, every other day. I was fortunate enough to get to go to his place in northeast Texas with my son Sean. What a treat.

We got to see some aluminum turning into gun frames and parts in their state of the art facility.
Barrel work.. and all barrels get tested with a bore scope and lapped before being installed in a gun or sold. I have had pretty much every high end barrel out there and I firmly believe Wilson Combat makes the most accurate and reliable AR15 barrels on the planet.
I really wanted to check out some of the latest finish options for ARs which are all done in house.
Here is a wall full of ARs !

It was a really great visit, I wish I could have spent all day there but they are quite busy!!!

I had been wanting to buy a Wilson Combat 1911 and after reading this article, decided to drive down the Berryville, AR and tour the plant. I called and told the the person answering the phone that I was interested in a tour and asked if I could speak with someone about their 1911s. No problem I was told and was given an appointment time. After driving 300 miles, I showed up and was able to speak with a very helpful individual but was informed that Wilson Combat does NOT DO TOURS. Wow.
