My Glock 19 gen3 has never let me down–this one has 3-4K rds through it. I’ve been in several classes and dad was also a firearms instructor–and SA–with Cutomes/ICE/Homeland–we’ve seen every brand of gun go down…but glock and HK are the most perfect we’ve seen (note: I haven’t really seen that many Springfield Armory guns since our supply of free ammo ran out about 4-5 years ago, when SA was just starting to get popular).

Right now, the gun that fills that role is a Sig Sauer P229 .40 with Crimson Trace laser grip.

For your crash in the night scenario I have the Sig 516 with the SigTac Brace. ATF ruled it a legal handgun and its not illegal to shoulder it!! I got the 10 inch barrel…outfitted with Streamlight Protac, Beamshot day/night green laser, Vortex SPARC, MAGPUL mags loaded with Hornady ammo. Awesome gun, short and handy.

all other problems its the XD’s for me….my fav to shoot though is my Wilson reworked early 70’s Colt Combat Commander in 38super.

My vote is Glock, 19 to be specific. It is the best (to me) balance of shoot-ability, capacity, conceivability and reliability.

Is it the pistol I enjoy shooting the most? No.. That would be a 1911 of course.
