Today I picked up another new weapon light. Go figure huh? For anybody who may follow my reviews you can probably guess I have some kind of sick flashlight fetish. I will say again what a huge fan of Streamlight flashlights I am, as a general rule of thumb they are my first choice. I have a lot of Surefires and some smaller brands too but $ for $ I feel that Streamlight gives you the best light for your money.

I have done reviews in the past where I talked about the TLR series of weapon lights from Streamlight. You have the TLR-1 which is the “full size” pistol light, the TLR-2 which is the same light with a laser and the TLR-3 which is a smaller light which will fit compact and subcompact pistols with a rail. Natural progression leads us to the TLR-4 which is the subcompact light with a red laser. That’s the one I got today and they just came out.

As always the workmanship is beyond reproach, it looks good and comes with different mounting keys to make sure you get the light in the position you want it on about any handgun you want to put it on. It’s bright, the switch is solid and the laser is adjustable. Just like its predecessors it is a very nice light! I think the best way to go over this is just list the factory specs, So here they are.

C4® LED technology, impervious to shock with a 50,000 hour lifetime. 640-660nm red laser.
5,000 candela peak beam intensity; 110 lumens
Runs 1.5 hours ( LED only or LED and laser); 11 hours (laser only)
One-handed snap-on and tighten interface keeps hands away from muzzle when attaching/detaching. Securely fits a broad range of weapons
Windage and elevation adjustment screw mounted in brass bushing for dependable zero retention of laser
Ambidextrous momentary/steady On-Off switch
Three position mode selector switch for Laser only, LED illumination only or both Laser and LED
Textured parabolic reflector produces a concentrated beam with optimum peripheral illumination. Optimized electronics provide regulated intensity. Laser provides long-range targeting
Key kit included for mounting to a variety of weapons (H&K USP models do not include key kit)
Uses one 3V CR2 lithium battery (included)
Impact-resistant Engineering polymer with durable anodized aluminum facecap
Borofloat high temperature glass lens
Withstands heat and cold with operating temperatures of -10°F to +120°F
IPX4; water-resistant
Serialized for positive identification
2.73″ (6.93 cm)
2.81 oz. (79.7g)
Limited lifetime warranty

So there they are. You should now know everything you need too technically and then some. I would like to comment on the “impervious to shock” part. THEY ARE! It was killing me inside to do it but I beat one on concrete HARD a lot of times, both on and off, and the things just won’t break. 🙂 This is a combat ready piece of gear. You can have confidence that these babies will fire up when you flick that toggle switch. I love Streamlight anything. I mounted this one on a Ruger SR22. Like I said it will work on any subcompact. It’s just that most of my subcompacts already have Crimson Trace laser grips so it would be redundant. I use the TLR-3 on the subs usually.

So that pretty much wraps it up, enough said right?? QUALITY, BRIGHT light at a REASONABLE price. Go to Botactical.com and get yours today for 112$ free shipping. Botach rocks! Fast ship and usually the best prices. I shop there all the time.

As always thanks for reading and happy shooting.
