Precision Rifle Solutions Tripod system offers a lot for the shooter, be it for LE, Mil, competition or hunting use.  What is really cool is that they give you a very flexible setup so that you can have one tripod setup for pretty much all of your needs, a portable rifle rest that can go from prone to kneeling, to standing.  You can also use it for binos, a spotter, range finder or camera..

Precision Rifle Solutions is ran byDanel Jenkins in Texas, having served in the US military in some not so friendly places and currently serving the citizens of Texas in a law enforcement role.  Danel knows that his gear MUST perform and was born out of need not by some marketing shmuck in a suit.  I like that.

The system starts with a lightweight SLIK tripod that can go from eye level with the center extension rod installed and pulled up to a normal shooting height (shoulder level, slightly crouched for a 6ft shooter) all the way down to 6″ for prone use with the rod removed (a 20 second operation to remove or add the rod)

It features a rifle cradle machined out of aluminum in two different widths, one for wide forearms as used on tactical stocks or a narrower hunting style stock.  It is padded and covered in heavy duty stitched material. I have the SSP-2 (wider unit), it works well with the flat forearm on my Manners MSC-T stock.

Since they use the SLIK mini head you can pick up standard plastic SLIK QD adaptor plates at just about any decent camera store for around 14 bucks.  PRS also makes a more heavy-duty machined aluminum QD plate and that was what was included on the rifle cradle.

I also got the bino plate that features a padded plate with a heavy duty velcro strap setup to secure a set of binos and this also came with the PRS adapter plate installed.  I put my Meopta HD 10x42s in the unit and cinched the velcro strap down tight and mounted on the tripod.  They seem solidly attached and I wouldn’t worry too much about them coming out of the mount.

Additionally, there is another option called the R.A.P. Ruck Adapter Panel.  It is essentially a 5″ square piece of heavy-duty fabric that will attach to a pack via molle attachments and has a velcro outward surface.  You can simply mount the cradle (which has velcro tabs on the bottom) and stick it to this piece that can be on say your pack..  Makes for a nice other option if you wanted to shoot off your pack without the gun wanting to slide sideways and use the tripod for a spotter, camera, whatever.

This is a very nice little setup that gives the shooter a lot of options.

I have use the tripod rifle cradle shooting prone, off a bench as a rest, kneeling, sitting low and standing.  It makes for a great rifle shooting platform with the added bonus of being able to be used for other operations easily.  All of this will easily stow away into my Camelback Mil Pak Mule.
