The Nexbelt is “The belt with no holes.” Instead of the regularly spaced holes one inch apart you find on most other belts, the Nexbelt utilizes a ratchet system that allows for 1/4 inch increments for a precise fit. The belt easily cinches tight on the rubber teeth. To release, pull the small lever on the buckle.

This is a review of the Nexbelt Tactical Series black leather gun belt featuring an attractive Gadsden Flag buckle. The belt is not as thick and stiff as my other leather gun belt but that can be an advantage outside of competition or law enforcement, although I think I prefer the thickness of the other belt. It is a dressy alternative to the traditional hardcore gun belt. This is a really nice option for concealed carry as it just looks like a leather dress belt.Nexbelt gun belt

So what makes this a “tactical gun belt?” I don’t have another Nexbelt to directly compare to but I believe that the gun belt is:

  • Slightly thicker than the standard Nexbelt models.
  • The leather gun belt features a water resistant backing that not only helps protect against wear but also adds to the overall load carrying stiffness.
  • The buckle has two set screws for added security while carrying a firearm.Nexbelt gun belt

The belt comes in one size that fits up to a 50″ waist. To customize a personal fit, cut the belt at the appropriate mark. Add a couple of inches to your waist measurement to account for a holster and an additional inch on the first cut. It only takes about a minute to release the belt from its mounting system, trim, and re-install. Start with a little extra length, wear it with your holster a couple of days, and then re-cut a bit shorter if desired until you achieve the perfect fit.Nexbelt gun belt

The leather belt locks into the buckle with a spiked latch plus the two set screws. The set screws are a $10 option on most other belt series but are standard on the gun belts. The belt strap width is 1 7/16″.

I ordered the Gadsden Flag version because it looked great on the Nexbelt website. It is even more attractive in person and has a high-quality appearance that looks great with jeans or dress slacks.
