Today I want to talk about the Ruger Tactical 10/22 VLEH. I picked one up the other day from Johnsons Sporting Goods in Adrian MI for a tad over 400$ This is the bull barreled 10/22 rifle. It comes with a 16 inch hammer forged fluted .920 heavy barrel. The action seems to have a..

Simply a joy to shoot, and an excellent way to train on an AR15 platform for a fraction of the cost.

Excellent Scope! Purchased this scope for use on my 6.8 YHM upper. Have always been a long time Leupold fan but this is my favorite scope to date. The glass is amazing and the styling is perfect for my AR. You won’t be disappointed. By: Keith Evans

Marlin model 336

I am reviewing my Marlin 336 30-30 rifle. I originally bought this used about 20 years ago as my first hunting rifle. This rifle is a great all-around hunting rifle for deer. It shoots accurate at 100 yards (I don’t like to shoot from farther than that without a scope), and is very reliable. This..

LaRue PredatAR 16″ barrel 5.56mm

Me and my LaRue. Its as if the bullets leaving the barrel knew where I wanted them to go. Its accurate and is a functioning, lethal work of art. There are cheaper black guns and more expensive ones, but unless you opt for the OBR, I don't think you can go wrong. You won't be sorry.

Cavalry Model Trapdoor Springfield

This is an original, not a current reproduction. It is heavy, cumbersome, and a single shot. It launches a 400 grain bullet at about 1400 fps. In a fun shoot competition, shooting at a swinging buffalo set somewhere between 800 & 900 yards, I am able to unload the rifle and lay it down, before the bullet hits the target, and the sound of the strike comes back to the line. Neat! It is the same type of rifle carried by US Cavalry in the west; this was standard issue to Custer's men at Little Bighorn.

Stevens 200 Review

On January 16th, 2012, posted in: Center-Fire Rifles by 0 Comment

A while back I became interested in long range hunting and shooting. After much research and reading all that I possibly could I began to get discouraged, seeing many people with these high dollar custom rifles and knowing my budget would not allow for that in the near future. So I set out with a goal in mind, "long range on a budget". After much more research I decided on the Stevens Model 200 in .308 Winchester.

Surplus rifles Pt. 5 M38 Carcano

Here I am again with Part 5 of the Surplus Rifles on a budget series. Up for review today is the 6.5mm Italian Carcano M38. This rifle is the model very much like the one Lee Harvey Oswald supposedly shot President Kennedy with. I wanted one of these for my world war 2 weapon and..
