Today I want to review something a bit different. How many people have seen those stupid “no guns” signs or “no weapons allowed” signs? How many people have restrictions on your concealed carry licenses for any place selling alcohol, holding more than 2000 people, stadiums, concerts and so on? A Lot of people have those restrictions and it makes no sense. I see “Gun Free Safety Zone” signs here in Michigan. It makes me sick, “gun free” and “safety” don’t go together in this world, never have and never will. Look how many shootings occur on “Gun Free” campus’s. A whole bunch do, with saddening regularity. When will people wise up and get rid of these false safety zones? I don’t know but I feel the safest in a place full of normal people with guns on them. I feel the trend of most states having ccw’s now is a step in the right direction but we have a long way to go.

But your a law abiding citizen right? What are you going to do in these restricted area’s? Carry a knife? Might still be illegal, it’s definitely still a lethal weapon. I have a solution to this, carry a pen. Yep, an ink pen. Not just any old pen though, one of these pens. Nobody can get arrested for a pen and it allows you the option of a non-lethal response first. You can always escalate your counter-attack if needed. Then there’s today’s sad liability issues. It just sounds better for your jury if the headlines read  “Man fights off mugger with an ink pen in parking garage” rather than “Man kills man with a 6 inch double edged dagger in parking garage”

So I introduce the “Self Defense Pen”, these babies are sweet. I’ve been carrying one of them for years and it’s a beauty. I just received several more styles from my man Albert and he says more styles are coming in to his store. He said something about an EMT version. It’s not in yet but we can discuss the 5 styles that I do have. At the end I will put Albert’s contact info at the bottom. He said if you mention this article when you contact him either through eBay or privately that you will get free shipping for mentioning you saw it here on TGR. That’s nice of him, so read on and then give Albert a call or email on eBay.

First let’s go over the pens generally before I break it down by style. I think they are of very good use to civilians who may not be able to carry a more traditional weapon and to law-enforcement as well. How many times a day are we standing in front of people taking a report, notes or writing a ticket? Using one of these pens keeps a weapon in your hand when performing these usually mundane tasks we often times go blind doing. Moving on, they are strong and machined from aluminum. They write beautifully and use standard Parker refills. You will use this pen for years and will have no problem getting more ink cartridges. They are light weight and have nice finishes. The finish is tough. The one I’ve been carrying for a few years doesn’t have a scratch. They all have nice sturdy pocket clips and O-rings in the caps keeping out crud and moisture. Very nicely made pens period, very professional looking whether you ever used them for a weapon or not.

So you might be thinking OK, it’s a metal pen, big deal. These things are pens but they were made to be weapons. You can stab and pierce flesh easily, tear off skin with the “DNA Collectors” which cause great pain and keep a piece of him for police forensics to test later, break glass and definitely use as a kubaton for pressure points. They hurt like hell. You can subdue an unruly person with pressure points and one of these pens or keep an assailant down till help arrives using one and pressure. Used properly they cause a lot of pain. Take for instance striking an attacker in the temple with your fist, that’s all well and good but strike him in the temple with a pointed sturdy metal pen and it just got a whole lot worse for him. That could very possibly be a lethal strike. Or a strike to the face, what would have left a bruise just left a roughly 45 caliber gaping gash. Jabs to the body like in the ribs can cause extreme pain and even pierce the flesh, much better than striking with your fist. The more pain you can cause the better, criminals want a victim not somebody tearing them up with a sharp metal object. One of these pens can definitely increase the pain and damage levels of your counter-attack. Using something like this to strike back with concentrates all your energy into a small spot unlike your fist where the energy is spread out over the whole area of your fist. This equals more pain/damage. Also it makes a weaker strike worse for them so if you aren’t strong enough to hit like a tank the pain you cause is still worse because it’s all concentrated in one small area. An example would be Angela can’t punch a hole through a ribcage with her fist but she easily drove the 2 pens through the bone in ribs shown.  These pens are a useful backup or last ditch weapon that is legal everywhere for civilians and law-enforcement alike. There’s no reason you can’t carry an ink pen. One even has a flashlight, all that and if nothing else you can still write a check with it.

I’m going to let the pictures do the rest of the talking. There’s a number of pics and the details as you can see. I think that’s best here this time. You’ll see all 5 models with others coming soon. Thanks to Albert “Big Al” Ellswick  for offering such a fine product at a steal of a price. ($12-$16) Good pens are stupidly expensive and these are GREAT pens (and weapons) at a really reasonable price. For that price the extra piece of mind when you go out in the urban jungle is well worth it and like I said before it’s still a nice writing pen. It’s not a 44mag but it beats hysterical screaming or harsh language. Don’t forget to mention the article to him for free shipping and his contact info is below. As always thanks for reading and train often.
